Tara is a Clinical Psychologist and chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI Chartered member no.: M15698C).
Tara brings a compassionate, person-centred approach to her work, drawing on her experience supporting and collaborating with neurodivergent individuals in diverse settings and contexts.
Tara obtained a BSc in Psychology from Queens University, Belfast before pursuing a MSc in Applied Psychology at Trinity College, Dublin. Tara then completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Galway. During her doctoral training, Tara worked across a variety of settings, including child and adult disability services, psycho-oncology services, adult mental health and child primary care services.
Throughout her career Tara has always enjoyed and valued working with neurodivergent people and feels privileged to be involved in their assessment and identification journey. Her doctoral thesis explored the personal experiences of adults navigating the journey to an Autism identification in Ireland. She takes a person-centred approach to the assessment and identification of Autism and ADHD and has a strong interest in this area. She is committed to promoting a neurodiversity-affirming approach within every service she works in.
Tara values working in teams guided by neurodivergent voices and experiences, where strengths are recognised and differences embraced. She is passionate about supporting adults of diverse gender and sexual identities and is committed to creating inclusive, affirming spaces.
