Dr Serena Carberry

Serena is a Clinical Psychologist, and a Chartered member of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
Serena has a particular interest in neurodiversity. She also holds a keen interest in the areas of trauma and health psychology. Serena enjoys working collaboratively with clients, and endeavours to provide a therapeutic assessment experience, by providing a safe, comfortable and compassionate space for exploration. She has experience working collaboratively with Autistic and neurodivergent individuals across various settings and contexts.
Serena obtained a first-class honours in her BA (Hons) Psychology degree from the University of Dublin in 2015. She went on to earn a first-class honours in the Masters of Psychological Science, from University College Dublin. Following this, Serena spent a number of years traveling and working abroad in the United Arab Emirates and Australia. Upon returning to Ireland, Serena completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Limerick.
Serena has enjoyed working with Autistic adults and young people in various mental health, disability, and educational settings and charitable organisations. She uses a neurodiversity-affirmative approach, based on collaboration, trust and respect. She endeavours to provide a safe and support space for clients to explore their past experiences, become attuned to their Autistic, ADHD or AuDHD identity and to promote self-understanding. Her approach is inclusive and integrated. Serena is committed to a neurodiverse affirmative practice and being guided by the Autistic and neurodivergent community.
