Dr Nicola Evans

Senior Clinical Psychologist

Nicola is an Autistic Senior Clinical Psychologist registered with the UK Health and Care Professions Council.

She holds a BSc in Psychology (2004) and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2016), both obtained at Newcastle University. She co-authored peer reviewed publications during her doctoral training.

She has worked previously for the National Health Service (NHS), working within Psychology departments for 17 years (2007-2024) and contributing as a core part of multi-disciplinary teams. She is experienced in working across the life-span and in varied settings. Recognising the needs and strengths of Neurodivergent individuals has been a common theme in her work across settings.

Nicola is also experienced as a lecturer and personal tutor with the Open University (2020-2025), on their undergraduate Psychology module ‘Exploring Mental Health and Counselling’, tutoring both local and international students.

Nicola is fully committed to neuro-affirmative practice, with a collaborative, trauma informed and strengths-based approach.

In addition to working with The Adult Autism and ADHD practise, Nicola’s current passions are table tennis, collecting ladybird books and getting outside in nature!
