The Adult Autism practice is neurodivergent-led and Thriving Autistic is Autistic-led. We are a mix of Autistic, otherwise neurodivergent and neurotypical practitioners

The Adult Autism Practice partners with other organisations such as Thriving Autistic who deliver training on post-identification support. We also partner with The Children’s Clinic and Childversity, to deliver specific training regarding Autistic identification in children


Training Overview

We provide full day and half day training on neurodiversity affirmative, adult Autistic identification for psychologists and other health care practitioners working in:

  • Adult Mental Health

  • Child and Adolescent Mental Health

  • Primary Care

  • Community Network Disability

Training is interactive, with videos and other training materials provided, as well as a post-training pack of resources to support your work

Training includes the following topics:

  • How to conduct a neurodiversity affirmative, Autistic identification for adults

  • Comprehensive discussion and guidance on use of screening and Autistic identification tools

  • Gathering and interpreting information

  • Reports, letters and documentation

  • Post-identification support

Reflective Practice

After training, we offer a facilitated reflective practice space. This is a valuable opportunity to reflect on the training and explore how it might best be integrated in practice

Please note: to encourage rich discussion and learning, training is capped at 30 attendees

However, if more spaces are needed to accommodate a larger team, please contact us with numbers and we will provide a quote. Larger numbers require more trainers to facilitate the active learning elements
